my little cleaver
I am about to record a song which provided the title for my other blog, My Little Cleaver. The words were written by my friend Walt Turton and I wrote the music. Walt is one of the most talented people I know. He is also a confirmed Luddite who would rather put his head in a meat grinder than go anywhere near a computer. In some ways I envy him.
Anyway, once I have recorded it, I shall make it available on its namesake blog. Watch these spaces. Meanwhile, here are the lyrics…
my little cleaver
I don’t like jellies made with cheese
I don’t like fish and liver
I don’t like anything shaped like peas
but I likes me little cleaver
I don’t like anything 8 foot tall
I don’t like sheep that slither
I don’t like things that creep and crawl
but I likes me little cleaver
I don’t like sleeping in a lake
I don’t like frogs much either
I don’t like noises flowers make
but I likes me little cleaver
I don’t like pigs that sit and beg
I don’t like yellow fever
I don’t like anything with one leg
but I likes me little cleaver
I don’t like music played on flutes
or doors with rusty levers
I don’t like toads in hobnail boots
but I likes me little cleaver
I don’t like crawling on all fours
or jumping in the river
I don’t like things that live in drawers
but I likes me little cleaver
I don’t like ferrets in the walls
or cupboards filled with beavers
I don’t like camels dressed in shawls
but I likes me little cleaver
I don’t like policemen carved in lead
or chickens dressed in leather
I don’t like finding geese in bed
but I likes me little cleaver
